Limelight on the Ninety Nine Per cent

Cast: The Corporate Man
(Curtain rises with an annoying alarm)

Like a a programmed Robot
Brush, Soap and Shampoo;

Slip thro' ‘Ad’dictive Newspaper,
Take sound bites from News channels

munch breakfast without hunger,

Take a drought of juice without thirst

Check clock again and again,

As if a Bomb were about to blow

Tighten the 3D belly with leather belt
Push the feet into Military Shoes

Get, set, Go, into the War of vehicles,
Roar your engine, fight for space,
Blare your Horn or shout, to bully

Move forward like Soft toys

in the conveyor road belts

Reach the destiny

Pass through the motions of Security check,
Not to mention daily Parking Lot fist fights

Flaunt Plastic smiles,

Get crushed in Elevator compressions

Enter The Glass door Corporate Zoo

Matching Grazing Sheep bells,

punch your IDs

Enter the concentration camp

(call work station, if you feel belittled)

Role out perfunctory “Hi”s & “How are you”s

Login digital identity, Open task enabled Email

Sit like Buddha, without a smile

Take the tasteless Tea,

await Bossy instructions

Pass hours with well-defined routine

No stroll nor no breeze, just freeze

No Sun nor no Horizon, just a dungeon

As the day passes,

Socialise with fellow slaves,

crack Humourless Jokes

Take free lunch without a fight or a forage

Relax as a Couch potato ,

stare at dumb screen like you’re born for it.

Move with a Metronomic note with many iterations

Be first to get credit, last to praise

Be quick in passing the blame, sharp in saving your back

Trail the same path of yesterday,

With everlasting meetings, never ending arguments

Add sugar coated words to flatter,

Spit venomous phrases in the back

Play the evening blues,

Shop inorganic, Play pseudo random

Come back Home, the large living machine

Let there be no family talks, nor friendly invites.

Take Dinner in your own silent way.

Swallow iatrogenic tablets,

Switch on the iPad, Plug in the ears,

get lost in the abyss of isolation..

At deep end of the night, when

Eyes cry out loud in pain

“Damn life, I resign !”

Next day,

Iterate the day in the same corporate tempo.
